DESIGNER UNKNOWN [PHOTOCOLLAGE.] Circa 1950s. 11 3/4x8 1/4 inches. Condition A-: creases, minor abrasions, and slight staining in image. Matted. Although bearing the date 1923, this photo-collage likely dates from the 1950s. It is an anonymous paean to the masters of European and Soviet photomontage. Dynamically constructed and with precise adherence to the tenets of such designers as Klutsis and El Lissitsky, the image does not appear to be an advertisement, and we assume it to be the work of a student.
